Focus Pilates is a leading boutique studio located in the market-town of Frome, England amidst the Somerset countryside. We offer private sessions and group classes, a 600-hour Classical Instructor Certification, an annual retreat, and are the largest manufacturer of hand-crafted bespoke Classical Pilates Equipment made in England.
Ashley Gregory founded the studio in 2017. She is a second-generation instructor and holds a comprehensive Peak Pilates certification. Dr Tina di Carlo, Director of Education, is also Peak trained, studied with Alan Herdman and Simone Horster (who studied with Jay Grimes) and has a background in ballet. She brings her expertise in education (and architecture and art) as an affiliate at the Unviersity of Cambridge. Focus specialises in the Classical method and repetoire of Joseph Pilates as handed down through his protégé Romana Kryzanowska studied through practice and archival research. All gratitude to Pilatesology and Alisa Wyatt who have been an inspiration and essential resource.
Focus welcomes clients at all levels and ages. We use all elements of the 26-pieces of Classical equipment from Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Tower, Chairs, and Barrels to move and strengthen the body, lengthen and align the spine, and focus the mind. We believe moving the body changes the mind to transform one’s life.
